Michael Schunke and Josie Gluck, glassblowers and co-founders of Vetro Vero Glassblowing Studio, demonstrate their hot glass process to craft a handblown disc sculpture. The video begins at the fourth strip-gather (application of hot glass from the furnace), and through seamless teamwork, the glassblowers heat, blow, marver and trim the bubble before applying a roller-wrap (!) and innovative gold-leaf center. Key moments and techniques are replayed in slow motion for glassmakers. The final sculpture will be custom-fit to a handcrafted metal stand for luxe home decor.
