Biomarker-based Management of Cancer | Joshua Malapit | TEDxManila

Statistically, 1 out of 3 Filipinos will suffer from cancer in their lifetime. With proper lifestyle choices, these possibilities may be lessened, but never eradicated completely. Cancer researcher Joshua Malapit hopes that with the recent breakthroughs in cancer biomarkers, early detection will be the key in ensuring that those who have the disease may also have a higher chance in defeating it.

Josh is a graduate student at the Disease Molecular Biology and Epigenetics Laboratory of the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. As a young scientist, he is passionate about cancer research, and dreams to see the world free of the disease, hopefully within his lifetime
