The brain is like a really fancy restaurant. It’s picky about who it lets inside. You have to be one of the privileged few. But even fancy restaurants need to be cleaned up and protected, right? Who does the dirty work? In this episode of Neuro Transmissions, we’re exploring another one of our glorious glial cells: microglia. Though their name may fool you, don’t underestimate the power of these wee whippersnappers. They are the brain’s housekeeper and security system.
