Johannesburg, September 20 -- There's renewed hope that the teenage boy who carried a dying Hector Peterson in June 1976 is alive and well in a Canadian jail. Mbuyisa Makhubu disappeared after being harassed by the apartheid police shortly after the student uprisings. Makhubu's late mother told the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that she didn't know whether her son was alive or dead.
