Basbousa is a famous Middle
Basbousa is a famous Middle Eastern or Arabic Dessert made out of semolina. It's also known as a harissa cake or revani in Turkey.
This is my recipe for this sweet and famous Middle Eastern Dessert. It's very quick and easy to follow. You will love this basbousa recipe.
Basbousa ingredients
2 eggs
1/4 Cup caster sugar
1/2 cup oil
3/4 cup thick yougurt
1 tsp vanilla flavouring
1 cup fine semolina (sooji)
1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup desiccated coconut
4 tbsp milk
Sliced/flaked almonds for sprinkling
Sugar syrup
1 cup hot water
3/4 cup sugar
Dissolve then properly then pour on the baked cake and sprinkle some chopped pistachios. Let it rest for an hour and let the syrup soak in the cake and then enjoy with a cup a tea or coffee.
