[4K] Variations on a Rococo Theme - P. Tchaikovsky [Antwerp String Ensemble]

Variations on a Rococo Theme by P. Tchaikovsky performed by Shuya Tanaka and Antwerp String Ensemble on October 21, AMUZ.

Antwerp String Ensemble (ASE) is a string chamber orchestra created by Shuya Tanaka and  Lucas Van Vlierberghe in the summer of 2022. Unistada, the new composition for cello solo and string ensemble by Van Vlierberghe, was dedicated to cellist Shuya Tanaka and was the beginning of them working together. This work led to the creation of ASE and the first concert series Melancholia.

Van Vlierberghe and Tanaka both studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in the same period. Van Vlierberghe studied composition and conducting, Tanaka studied cello. During their studies they already worked together. For example, Van Vlierberghe dedicated his first cello suite to him.
