This video explores the basics of Panamanian history and politics to explain how its location shaped much of its history. It explains how and why it gained independence from Spain and later from Colombia, how the Panama Canal was constructed. It goes through the rule of Omar Torrijos, Manuel Noriega and ends with the current President Laurentino Cortizo.
