Berlin, Germany in 1918 - World War One aftermath.
GV looking down at crowds in street; some tram cars stopped in middle. Pan over another large crowd; tightly packed together in public square; military & civilians. CU guards around doors of building (palace?). Soldiers carry; start to set up machine gun in street. LS soldiers stand around gun. CU same.
Group of soldiers w/ various weapons; sailor; soldiers hurry across in FG. Sniper's nest - rifle sticking out of small arched window over doorway; ladder leans on wall. GV former Imperial Palace; w/ damage from machine guns. Closer view palace; ground level.
