Sanding Leather Edges of Tough Dog Collar

The leather edge of this tough dog collar is sanded on a  piece of equipment we rigged up many decades ago and still use it daily in our leather shop. There are many ways of finishing leather edges that look great. We will show one way that we often use. First, the edges of the sewn leather dog collar are sanded down even using coarse and fine grit sanding drums from Lee Valley Tools. Next, the leather edge is rounded with a C.S. Osborne Edger tool. Black coloring (Fiebing's Edge Kote) is applied to the leather edge with a foam applicator.  After it dries, beeswax is rubbed on a denim cloth and then the leather edge is burnished with this denim cloth for the last step.
