Dr Karl introduces the 2024 Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize short film competition

The University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize encourages school students to explore a scientific concept, discovery or invention, or test their own scientific hypothesis, in a two-minute film.

In this 2-minute promotional video, prize patron Dr Karl Kruszelnicki introduces the competition and helps students brainstorm a topic that aligns with the 2023 theme, 'Energy'.

Delivered as part of the prestigious Australian Museum Eureka Prizes, the Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize supports budding young scientists across the nation, who will be our future leaders in research, discovery and communication.

Entries open Monday 12 February
Entries close 7pm AEST Friday 12 April
Finalists announced Wednesday 31 July
Winners announced at Award Ceremony Wednesday 4 September
