Easily learn how to record high-quality audio in Audacity. Adjust recording levels, select your microphone, and choose between mono or stereo settings to create professional recordings.

How to RECORD AUDIO in Audacity Chapters:

To record audio in Audacity, start by adjusting the recording level handle to the left or right according to your preferences. If the audio reaches the red areas on the meter while you're recording, it's advisable to slightly decrease this recording level. Next, click on the audio setup button and opt for the rescan audio devices option so that Audacity can scan and detect the recording devices connected to your computer. Afterward, click on the button once more and select the microphone you wish to record with under the recording device section. Consider setting the recording channels to mono or stereo, depending on your specific requirements. For instance, for speeches, mono might offer better clarity, while stereo could be preferable for music. At this point, I have set it to stereo. Finally, click on the red record button and commence recording your audio. To conclude the recording, click on the stop button or press the spacebar.
