Making architecture decisions is one the most fundamental responsibilities that represent the key capabilities of any architect. When synthesizing a candidate architecture or making a technology recommendation, it is important for the architect to articulate the trade-offs of a particular approach, in addition to how it meets stakeholder requirements. Architecture decisions also need to be supported by rationale that describe why, in the midst of multiple viable alternatives, a particular approach is deemed to most appropriate.  Tracking architecture decisions is one of the most simple things to formalize when maturing your architecture capability. The speaker will discuss best practices for setting up an architecture decision making framework, including approaches for tool implementation and incorporating architecture decisions in models used for describing architectures.
