Falafel with Hummus|Without Tahini | Chickpea/Kabuli Chana Recipe

Today's recipe is Falafels with Hummus that too without Tahini.
Falafels| फलाफल | are a middle eastern food made from chickpeas/Kabuli chana, spices, and herbs, and then deep fried ,although you can bake them too. Falafels are soft inside and have a Crunchy bite on the outside.It is best had with hummus.
Hummus| हमस |is made of chickpeas/kabuli chana too & it just takes a few other ingredients to make a smooth hummus.It is a creamy dip This is a great starter recipe or can be had as a light meal option too
Ingredients
for the Falafels
2 cups of chickpea
5-6 cloves of garlic
1 cup of coriander Leaves
1 medium onion chopped fine
1 tsp of cumin/jeera seeds
1 tsp of red chilli powder/paprika too can be used instead
salt to taste
Method for the Falafels
Soak a cup of dried chickpeas for 5-6 hours. Strain the chickpeas and add it to a mixer Add all the remaining ingredients too, Grind it till you get a crumbly mixture Make sure not to grind it to a fine paste Make small round balls or patties . Heat some oil for deep-frying . Drop the balls into the hot oil and deep fry the falafels till golden brown in colour.Drain the excess oil on a kitchen napkin and serve these hot with the chiled hummus .
Ingredients for the Hummus
1 cup of kabuli channa/chickpea cooked
1 cup of til/white sesame seeds
4-5 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp of curd/dahi/yogurt
The juice of 1 & 1/2 Lemon
salt to taste
Extra Virgin Olive Oil -as needed
Method for the Hummus
Soak the chickpeas in double the quantity of water for 10-12 hours.Pressure cook them for 1 whistle on high and simmer for 5 mins. Add all the ingredients to a food processor Grind it to a smooth paste by adding Olive oil as needed to get a smooth paste . Once it is smooth, transfer it to a shallow bowl and add olive oil .Serve chilled with the hot crunchy Falafels .
Falafel & Hummus together are just yummmmmmmmmm.
