Making DIY natural hand soap
Making DIY natural hand soap is not only inexpensive, it’s super convenient! It takes as few as two ingredients and less than 5 minutes.
“Conventional” soaps, and tons of other personal care products for that matter, are packed full of nasty stuff. Parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes and fragrances, sodium lauryl sulfate, Tricolson, formaldehyde! Um, no thanks.
But for about a $1/bottle, you can make your own!
You'll need:
1/4 cup liquid Castile soap
1 3/4 cup distilled water (or water boiled for 5 minutes and cooled)
A 16 oz dispenser to put it in (a reusable or an empty up-cycled bottle.)
Optional: 2 squirts of carrier oil (jojoba, sweet almond, fractionated coconut oil)
Optional: 10-15 drops essential oil
Basic Instructions:
Pour Castile soap into your container. Add water. Give it a little shake and you’re done!!
The upgrade:
For moisturizing or scented product, add 2 squirts of a plant based carrier oil and/or 10-15 drops of essential oils (be sure to check for family safety).
Let me know how you like it and what your favorite fragrance combos are. I am always looking for new ideas!
