After arriving back in Granada, I headed off to get pampered with a haircut! Come with me on my luxurious Nicaraguan haircut experience!

My barber shop was right across the street from my hotel, La Merced, where I had a huge amount of space in my suite. I had a refrigerator, armoir, huge bed, and more. This hotel used to be a huge house. There are two levels, a restaurant, and a pool in the center!

I walked across the street to the barber shop, and met my barber, Asiyadora. I wanted a beard trim, a head shave, and a massage. I met everyone there and even the cat! She said I was going to look elegant by the end!

She trimmed my beard, and I learned that the barber shop has been there since 1968. It’s a beautiful antique barber shop! She put a cold towel on my forehead and applied shaving cream to my neck to shave that part. The aftershave felt great!

Then, she trimmed my nose hairs and then applied shaving cream to the top of my head and began shaving my head. It felt so good and relaxing! Then, she went in a second time for a closer shave. She was doing a great job!

Then, it was time for the massage. She added an exfoliating cream to my face and rubbed it in. It was a heavenly face massage! It completely opened my pores. She was making sure she’d get rid of all the blackheads.

Then, she applied a mud mask and fanned me so it dried quickly. My face felt super tight! Then, she used a towel to wipe it off. It felt great! Then, she applied menthol, which tingled but felt good!

Then, it was time for the face massage. She used a machine on her hand and used it on my head, face, neck, arms, chest, and hands! It felt so good, I wanted to buy that machine! Then, she got my back and the top of my head, followed by the back of my neck and even my palms!

I felt like a new person by the end! It cost 500 cordobas, or about $14 USD. It was amazing. Then, we headed back to La Merced, where we got some coffee in Cafe La Merced. I went with an iced coffee with double espresso.

The hotel has 18 rooms and is in the center of the city. It’s beautiful!
