Baldur's Gate 3 - UPDATED - How To Create A Custom Party Of Up To 4 Characters -Full Release Updated

In this video I want to share the process for how to create a custom party of UP TO FOUR custom characters! This process results in a single player game that can be loaded and enjoyed by one person, with up to four custom characters. Once you have your game up and running with your custom characters, load again from Steam to enjoy cloud saves etc.

Tested WORKING as of Hotfix 5 09:45 UTC, Wednesday 6 Sept 2023 - Please always check Steam is not running, even in the background...check Task Manager to ensure this. Don't just log out of Steam, shut it down. And consider running the .exe as Administrator

Disclaimer: Use this process at your own risk. I provide the information for this process and it has never caused a BG3 saved game of mine to break or be deleted, but every PC system and Steam account is different, so use with caution and always back up your game files and saves before attempting this process

For the game, try right clicking the executable, select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab and check off the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' option (set it to Application), run as administrator and disable fullscreen optimization, and maybe set a Win 7 or 8 compatibility mode. In Windows 7, check off the option to 'Disable display scaling on high DPI settings', disable desktop composition and run as administrator."_



*Note you should start a game with only 2 or 3 slots IF you still want to include companions in your party, like Karlach, Laezel etc*

_This is an UPDATED process for Full release. I've tested it with Patch 1 (25 Aug 2023). Future updates by Larian may break the process. Please let me know in the comments if anything isn't working and I will check_

**Remember that for this process, we now MUST NOT have Steam running at the time you launch the instances of BG3, and you'll be launching the game from the .exe file directly, NOT using the Larian Launcher anymore. The key element now is that Steam must not be running, WHILE you set up the game. Once you have your game up and running with your custom characters, load again from Steam to enjoy cloud saves etc.**
