Ottoman-Turkish Music, Şehzâde Korkut - Kürdî Peşrev

A classical Turkish piece composed by Şehzade (Prince) Korkut (1467 - 1513), son of Bayezid II and the elder brother of Selim I. He was a poet, instrumentalist, composer and also a supporter of fine arts and sciences. He is said to have designed a musical instrument called "gıda-i ruh" or "ruh efza". Some eight compositions in the repertoire have been attributed to Prince Korkut.
