The 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil has provided entertaining, free-scoring, attacking football, shocking defending; moments of violent madness and brought us joy and reduced grown men to tears. Bring on the Germany vs Argentina in the final!

Luis Suarez scored some wonderful goals against England but then provided the most controversial moment of the tournament by biting Giorgio Chiellini. Neymar's skills and goals were on show as he carried Brazil to the semi-finals but a fractured back ruled him out for the rest of the competition.

David Luiz scored a wonderful free kick against Colombia in the quarter-finals before going missing during the Brazil vs Germany semi-final. His defensive partner Thiago Silva was, perhaps, an even bigger miss than Neymar Jr, Brazil's superstar striker.
Thomas Muller has been on top form for Germany and managed to wind up Portugal's Pepe, who was sent of for a headbutt in the group stages.
Miroslav Klose broke fat Ronaldo's record for the highest scoring player ever at the World Cup finals. Aptly, he broke it during what was probably the most remarkable semi-final in World Cup history as Germany demolished the hosts 7-1 and broke the hearts and spirit of a nation.
For England it was a familiar tale of disappointment. Daniel Sturridge bagged a couple of goals and Raheem Sterling ran very fast but other than that, the losses to Uruguay and Italy didn't provide much hope and the draw with Costa Rica had little going for it.
