Welcome to the newly relaunched History Hit YouTube channel!
For our first video we’ve recreated the Battle of Hastings using the video game Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia. We’re releasing this on October 14th, the anniversary of the battle that changed the course of English history.
History Hit presenters Louee Dessent and Luke Tomes take you through the strategy and tactics of the two generals on the day, Duke William of Normandy and Harold Godwinson, recently crowned king of Anglo-Saxon England. They’ll take you through the background to the battle, the composition of the armies and the key moments that decided the day.
This is the first episode of our brand new Battlefield Replays series where we’ll use gaming footage to recreate some of the best known battles in history.
