RAID 6 provides the only thing better than one backup -- two backups. Learn what RAID 6 is and how it protects data in this video.

RAID stands for redundant array of independent disks, and RAID 6 is a RAID technique used as a data backup plan. Unlike other RAID configurations, RAID 6 provides two opportunities for disk failure before any data is lost, because it creates two sets of parity data.

However, while RAID 6 provides a intensified sense of security, it needs to make two sets of data, so it costs more to hold the same amount of data that a single-disk configuration would. It’s foolproof, but not the best configuration for every scenario.

Which RAID array does your organization use? Why? Sound off in the comments, and remember to hit the like button.
