The Mercedes McLaren SLR, a
The Mercedes McLaren SLR, a homage to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, arose during an era of icons; The Ferrari Enzo just to name one. SLR is an abbreviation for "Sport Leicht Rennsport" (Sport Light Racing), and while it wasn’t particularly light weight, it was joint developed by McLaren and Mercedes, sold from 2003-2010, and around 2,157 were produced. But this 2006 example is particularly special. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

-Front mid mounted 5.4L supercharged M155 SLR V8
-617HP 575 lb-ft of torque
-5 speed auto
-Weighed around 3900lbs
-Supercharger rotates at around 23k rpm
-Car and Driver achieved 0-60 MPH in 3.4 sec -1⁄4 mile in 11.2 sec at 130 mph
-Built & Engineered by McLaren in England

The super GT largely was created by McLaren, with an advanced carbon monocoque structure, F1 and racing derived aerodynamics and technology, and a design by the one and only. Gordon Murray. And this 2006 model boasts his signature on the driver’s door, the only SLR to have this.
