Today's video is all about basic vegetable cutting techniques.

Mastering basic knife skills is one of the most essential parts of cooking, along with keeping your knives sharp. A sharp knife not only allows you to work faster, but safer.

When your knife is blunt the amount of pressure needed to cut through food is much greater and can easily slip and might result in injuries.

It is also important to consider which knife is needed for each job. For example, you would not use large chefs’ knife to deseed a chili.

Holding your knife correctly will not only help you work more safely but will also allow you to work faster and also makes you more efficient in the kitchen.

Care for Chef Knifes:-
These are  few care steps I follow, it  helps prolong the life of my chef knife and ensure excellent performance
1) Always keep your knife dry and clean!
2) Hand wash with warm soapy water. Don't use abrasive sponges.
3) Never put your knife in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.
4) Dry your knife completely using an absorbent towel / Paper towels.
