Maharashtra Political Crisis News: Supreme Court hearing on petition challenging disqualification action against 16 Shiv Sena MLAs has been extended. It will take time to set up a bench of justices to hear the case, said Chief Justice of the Supreme Court N.S. V. Ramana clarified on Monday. Chief Justice Ramana has also directed the Speaker to suspend the disqualification action against Shiv Sena MLAs. In a big setback to Uddhav Thackeray, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to give urgent hearing on the former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray's plea seeking disqualification of 16 rebel MLAs.
The top court asked the Solicitor General to inform the Maharashtra Assembly Speaker not to take any decision against the 16 MLAs unless the plea is decided by the court.
