Carl Jung's Theory of Personality says that each person has a unique psyche made up of conscious and unconscious parts. He believed that our personalities are shaped by archetypes (universal symbols and images) and that we strive for wholeness and integration. Jung proposed the concepts of introversion (focusing inward) and extroversion (focusing outward), and introduced the idea of individual psychological types based on preferences for thinking, feeling, sensation, and intuition. He also believed in the collective unconscious, a shared reservoir of archetypes common to all humans.
