On September 19th 2000, Eric Moussambani broke Equatorial Guinea's national record as he competed in the Men's 100m freestyle event at the Sydney Olympics.
Elsewhere, Germany broke the world record as they won gold in the Men's Team Pursuit and Ian Thorpe won his fifth medal of Sydney 2000 as Australia beat the USA in the Men's 4x200m freestyle relay.
