When you come to me
When you come to me for your early pregnancy check and you are a very anxious and very worried on this particular visit and you’re hesitant to tell me what went on in the last couple of days or week. You would then slowly open up and say that you had one spot of bleeding and you're worried about. Would it give rise to bleeding, and would it give rise to infection, will it lead to abortion? That is the question that is haunting you but you do not have enough courage or the comfort level to ask your doctor about this. The placenta for example is low placed and it may trigger a bout of bleeding or you're already having some infection of previous abortions and we do not want to invite more trouble. So if the doctor advises then you must refrain from it by and large for every healthy pregnancy it is not unsafe in any trimester of pregnancy. But there are concerns with your own personal likes and dislikes and the level of your energy, for example if you are vomiting for too many times in early part of the pregnancy, you may not be in the mood or not have enough energy.
