Welcome to TheBrittnyWay. I'm Brittny and I am a first year medical student at University of Florida College of Medicine. It is "MED SCHOOL SATURDAY" and that means I have another video that shows what life is like as an MS1.
The Preceptorship is a two week long internship where first year medical students at University of Florida venture out into the community. We select primary care physicians who serve as our mentors, teachers, and role models. This opportunity allows us to build upon our recently acquired history and physical examination skills. While working under Dr. Floyd in his pediatric clinic, I obtained several full and focused histories and then performed the relevant physical exams. This was a great opportunity to learn from someone who is experienced in the field and to model their excellence in providing compassionate, patient-centered care. I am so fortunate to be at a medical university that offers such early clinical exposure. This was an unforgettable experience. I learned so much and gained confidence in my clinical abilities and knowledge.
