Leaving My Second Hagwon

Hello everyone! Unfortunately, I am leaving another hagwon due to having a terrible experience. I thought I would be here for quite some time, but for the last three months, it hasn't been great. I would be naive to believe my ethnicity wouldn't hinder my job experience. However, I believe it played a major role in my decision not to extend my contract and look for employment elsewhere. I hope this video can provide clarity, insight, and/or be an example to understand what African American teachers go through working inside of hagwons. It's sad but I do have other not-so-great experiences I would like to share, but for the time being, because this change is recent and fresh, I want to get this part out of the way right now. In the near future, I will talk about some of the issues I encountered. March is the beginning of the school in Korea. To those teachers who are transferring or are on their way to Korea, please do not let my experience discourage you from coming. I know this is not a representation of all hagwons and schools in Korea. I have a few friends who enjoy their jobs and have stayed at their school for years. My only advice is to be vigilant, always ask questions, and DO NOT let anyone walk all over you. Next week, I will have some time off from working and I will be in Da Nang Vietnam filming vlogs.
