"NACHIKETA" is the story of
"NACHIKETA" is the story of a strong-willed rebel and his thrilling journey through the era of freedom struggle in India. Our Protagonist, Abhay Tripathi, takes a stand against the mighty British empire and shocks them in the unexpected turn of events. A dramatic thriller that keeps the audience gripped till the last frame.
NACHIKETA highlights the mindset of the revolutionary and his undeterred conviction. The major players,the pioneers of revolution in the Indian independence struggle are subtly celebrated in this film.
we have dedicated the film to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose for his immense contribution to India's independence struggle and also for subtly meeting us in this film.
when we talk about India, we talk about Indian culture in all its aspects through this film. We talk about the strength of a family, that nurtures an individual to stand stoically by each other in times of triumph and distress.
Other freedom fighters, Madan Bihari and Nilotpal represent the rising wave of freedom struggle at its peak with more and more people joining hands for a free India.
The British government started to realize that they were losing ground in India.
Freedom fighters faced the heat of the British Empire, which resulted in extreme punishments in jails including death sentences. Despite all odds, the freedom struggle was gaining momentum and a wave of patriotism was very evident. There were many convicts, who survived hanging and as a result, the double jeopardy law was abolished by the British regime.
DIRECTOR'S POV:
when you see "NACHIKETA", there are going to be many questions, coming to mind. The timeline of "NACHIKETA", the period film, is set a little before the independence of India around 1940
I always aspired to make a film on patriotism, so I nurtured this idea in my mind, for a while and eventually wrote it. Previously planned it to be a bigger film but gradually decided to drop the idea, seeing the budget constraints. This was happening around 2020 end. But did not allow time to fizzle out of my hands and went ahead with a shorter version and finally filmed Nachiketa in 2021.
An attempt is made to recover the stories of smaller, more regional struggles within the ambit of the national struggle for freedom.
. Art direction is specifically researched, keeping the pre-independence period in indoor and outdoor scenes. Original music is composed exclusively for the film.
. The look of the film is a mix of Black n White and Coloured. Protagonist Abhay Tripathi along with Madan Bihari and others signify the collective conscience and collective voice of a nation.

The title "Nachiketa is inspired by the mythological character, who defied death, and practices of astrology, as shown in the film, has always been a part of Indian culture.
The protagonist's character is on the borderline between Fiction and real life..HINDI, ENGLISH, BENGALI, and a little dash of BIHARI language are used in the spoken text of the film.
The film got acclaimed in many international and national festivals as the best film. The festival laurels are still coming. . This is not just a film about freedom but also a film about motivating minds in an artistic way. Extremely happy to share this film on the 75th platinum jubilee of Indian independence day.JAI HIND
