Mutual Funds vs NPS: Which Is Better?

Equity Funds and NPS are suitable investments for Retirement. NPS is a flexible investment with tax benefits. There are two accounts under the NPS which are the NPS Tier I Account and the NPS Tier 2 Account. NPS Tier 2 Account is a voluntary account that you can open if you already have an NPS Tier 1 account. The NPS Tier 2 Account allows you to invest up to 100% in Equities under the Active Choice unlike NPS Tier 1 which has a cap of 75% in Equities. Mutual funds clearly score over NPS Tier 2 when it comes to consistency. NPS has a much lower expense ratio than Direct Mutual Funds and Regular Mutual Funds.
