A University of Hong Kong study has found that ranitidine bismuth citrate, or RBC, a drug commonly used to treat stomach ulcers, shows promise in preventing the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus from replicating in an animal model. The researchers said RBC's effectiveness is comparable to the outcome of the coronavirus drug remdesivir, but at a much lower cost.
