How to clean windows: The easy way

If it feels like very
If it feels like very long time since your window cleaner last made an appearance, then your windows are probably looking really grubby. So, it’s time to pop on your rubber gloves and clean those windows yourself. Presenter Laura Crombie's super-simple method will get your windows streak-free and gleaming in no time...oh, and you don’t need any fancy cleaning products or window vacuums.
1. Firstly, half fill a bucket with warm water, and add two tablespoons of white vinegar and a squirt of washing up liquid.
2. Use a sponge to wipe the solution onto the window, working from top to bottom.
3. Rinse your sponge and refill your bucket with clean water, then wash off working from top to bottom.
4. Using a squeegee is key for good results. Work from the top of the window downwards, and wipe the edge of the squeegee with a cloth after each pass down the window.
5. Finally, buff the glass with a microfibre cloth to make sure the window is completely streak-free.
TOP TIP: You shouldn’t clean your windows when the sun is shining directly on them, as the heat can cause the water to dry into spots or streaks.
TOP TIP: Heard the old wives tale that you can clean your windows with newspaper? It does work if you haven’t got a microfibre cloth handy, so give it a go!
