Episode 12: Wannabe (aka Friends 4Ever)
When Paige decides to start a Spirit Squad at Degrassi, Emma can't believe that the "sexist" sport of cheerleading is being revived. But Manny, who's had years of gymnastics training and is desperate for something to help make her "cool", wants to try out. The disagreement which ensues leaves Manny vulnerable to Paige's in-crowd manipulations. After Paige convinces Manny to destroy the anti-cheerleading article Emma wrote for the school newspaper, Manny comes to her senses. Apologizes to Emma. And realizes who her real friends are.
Toby and J.T. have been eating chips for weeks now, looking for a matching game piece that will win them a million bucks. When Liberty gets the piece they need, they talk her into contributing it and splitting the proceeds. Spinner overhears and so they have to cut him in too - as "protection". But J.T. can't find the original game piece and he's growing more nervous, watching everyone spend the cash they expect to have soon. When he does locate it at last, an even bigger disappointment follows - the boys had the details wrong and haven't won a dime.
