Oils, fats and caustic soda. It is not much more to boil a simple natural soap. However, to turn a soap into a small work of art for the eye, skin and nose, you need experience, knowledge and creativity. Erika Hock has all that. In Uhingen in the Filstal, she and her husband have been running the small soap manufactory Eulenhof since 2007. After the craft of soap boiling almost died out with the onset of industrialization, it is now enjoying great popularity again. Thanks to increased environmental awareness, natural soap is very much in vogue. The soaps that Erika makes according to her own recipe and with high-quality ingredients have illustrious names such as Milchbub, Drachenblut or Pink Cherry Cake. For her "Grüne Neune" herbal soap, she uses nine different wild herbs from her own garden. The soaps are plastic-free, almost all of them vegan and have a high degree of refatting.
