The full Drive & Sound
The full Drive & Sound test with the all new 2014 BMW 420d (F33) as the hardtop convertible/cabrio delivering 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque through a traditional 6-speed manual transmission. Although acceleration figures don't seem to be too impressive you have to consider the massive additional weight that the hardtop convertible technique adds on top of the normal 4-series coupe, its around 230 kg extra. On the other had this helps the ride to be very comfortable and relaxed, even at high speeds and although this car had the M-Sport suspension with optional 19 inch wheels. The consumption is also something that really impressed me as I drove over 1.400 km with an average of 6.1 liters, mostly Autobahn and sometimes sporty driving. Also the interior somehow seems of a higher quality than what I experienced in brevious F30 3-series, but that might also be due to the nice leather trim and the new M-Sport steering wheel (same as in the M6) that this car had.
