As part of Expanded Programme
As part of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), this Television Commercial was produced to ensure children’s timely vaccination with accurate interval between vaccines to protect them from 10 life threatening diseases.
The national immunization programme in Bangladesh has achieved significant success in many areas in terms of reaching high coverage with traditional routine immunization, maintaining polio free status and control of measles-rubella. Last year, the country successfully conducted the measles-rubella campaign targeting 52 million children from nine months to 10 years with coverage at over 90 per cent.
Although the country has reached 81 per cent of children aged one year with all antigens, the Coverage Evaluation Survey in 2013 suggests that about 19 per cent of children are yet to be fully vaccinated.
This critical area is now a matter of special focus for the experts closely working in the field.
