Elliot Breast Health Center - Stereotactic Biopsy

An MRI-guided breast biopsy uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves, and a computer to help locate an abnormality and remove a tissue sample for examination under a microscope. The biopsy is performed with a needle through an incision the size of a “paper cut”. It does not use ionizing radiation and leaves little to no scarring.
