When you grow up in South Africa in uitenhage, you don't even think of playing the Old Course. You see them play the Open there, and you read history about it. But you never for a moment have even the start of a thought that you will ever play it. Never. Not only are there visa issue for South Africans just to get to the UK, but 300 GBP for a round for a round of golf in an expensive European country is not in the realms of possibility. Thanks to this channel and sponsors like Takomo, and the playas who support the channel, I was able to do what neither my dad nor I thought was possible. I played the Old Course at St Andrews. Luckily i also was able to reinstate my family’s nationality that were lost during the war so i could travel as a Lithuanian. Otherwise this would not have happened This is the pinnacle - as good as playing at pebble and the town of St Andrews is a place I could live forever. The St Andrews Golf green fees differ depending on which course, by they are quite cheap in comparison to the Old Course (less than $100). I played a couple of them with my friend J5. It was an honor to be able to play at the complex. Before the round, I did look at St Andrews Old course maps, and even walked the course 4 times. But I never actually looked at hole 11 or 12.
