The Volkswagen brand is accelerating its electrification offensive in China. The ID.6, the third model in the ID. family, has been unveiled at the 2021 Auto Shanghai. There are two versions of the fully electric family SUV available: The ID.6 CROZZ is produced in northern China, while the ID.6 X is produced in southern China. Up to seven people can be accommodated in the multi-variable all-around model. The ID.6 is a continuation of Volkswagen's regionalization strategy and an important step toward becoming China's most desired brand for sustainable mobility.
The ID.6 incorporates numerous innovations: the most spacious model in the ID. family to date has gone in the direction of plenty of interior space and creates design highlights in lighting and material. There are four configurations available, each with a range of up to 588 km (China NEDC) and 225 kW of power, in addition to the standard MEB IQ. In the ID.6, up to seven people can travel with power, style, and safety.
The two available batteries have a storage capacity of 58 kWh and a net battery capacity of 77 kWh, respectively, and have a range of 436 to 588 km (China NEDC). The battery is housed beneath the passenger compartment, ensuring a low centre of gravity. The 4MOTION e-machines have a power output of 225 kW (305 PS), allowing them to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h.
The ID.6's architecture is based on Volkswagen's Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB), which partitions the areas for people and technology in an innovative and beneficial way for passengers. The ID.6 accommodates a third row of seats thanks to an additional 30 centimetres in length when compared to the ID.4. The ID.6 has 19"-21" wheels, a second row of seats that can be adjusted longitudinally, and a large panoramic glass roof. As an option, a panoramic sunroof that opens is available.
