REACTION OF CALCIUM HYDROXIDE WITH CARBON DIOXIDE

In this video we can observe that adding calcium oxide to water make calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) solution.  I can blowing exhaled air which contains more carbon dioxide in it.  Carbon dioxide reacts with slaked lime to produce calcium carbonate (Lime stone/white wash).  I can test the Slaked lime and Calcium carbonate with Phenolphthalein solution.  Both solutions are turned into pink colour,  so we can conclude that both are basic solutions.
