TabTimer Automatic Pill Dispensers

Hi There, I’m Jonathan Allott, Managing Director and Chief Timekeeper at TabTimer Reminders.

I established TabTimer in 2009 to help people stay on-time with medicines and other personal care tasks.

Today we have over 100 products, for people with various chronic illnesses and disabilities, to help them manage their daily living requirements, using reminder devices, alerts, and prompts.

This video focusses on our range of Automatic Pill Dispensers, in particular the TabTimer Medelert Automatic Pill Dispenser.

Many people struggle with remembering their correct medicines at the correct time.  It may be that;
• their medicines are time critical,
• they could be memory or cognitive impaired,
• their medicine regime could be time consuming or complicated,
• they could have Alzheimer’s, Dementia or Intellectual impairment,
• or they may just have general forgetfulness.

Some people may even have
• poor fine-motor skills,
• reduced dexterity,
• be blind, or have vision impairment

Any of these ailments may hinder patients from accessing their correct doses at the correct times.

An Automatic Pill Dispenser can assist them to
• administer their correct medicines at the correct time,
• give the person independence to administer their own medicines,
• and provide family and carers with peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are taking their medicines, as prescribed by their doctor.

This is the TabTimer Medelert Automatic Pill Dispenser.

Simply set the time and required alarms (up to 6 alarms per day)

Load the pills, and when the alarm time comes the device will rotate into the correct position revealing the correct dose required.

The alarm will sound for up to 30 minutes.

The patient simply tips the device to take their pills. They can only access the correct dose at the right time.  On time, every time!

The Dispenser has a removable tray which can be preloaded with up to 28 doses.

Some people use a spare tray and have a pharmacy fill the device for a small fee.  It’s very simple to swap the trays when the dispenser runs out.

The device meets the requirements of the Quality Care Pharmacy Program  (QCPP) when used with the medicine card and tamper evident stickers. So you won’t have to worry about who will fill the device for you, or for your loved one.

The dispenser comes with

• 4x double AA batteries, which are simple to install and easy to replace.

• 3 buttons which you use to do all the programming.

• up to 6 alarms per day as required

• 6 pre-printed dosing ring templates. For loading pills, and to provide a visual queue

• A lock and key, to ensure the person can only access the right pills when the alarm time is reached.

• A loud alarm and flashing light for up to 30 minutes, to get the patients attention.

• 3 different alarm tones, to suit the persons hearing

• or you can have just the flashing light, for a discreet alert, and visual alert for people who are deaf or hearing impaired.

• The patient simply tips the device to access their pills and the tipping sensation stops the alarm until next time.

• The Pill Dispenser comes with two lids, one solid white and one clear.

Some people like to be able to see the pills with the clear lid, others become more anxious or confused if they can see them, so its best to use the solid lid in that situation.

You can use whichever lid is most suitable for the patient.

• To make it easier for people with reduced dexterity or vision impairment there is also an optional tipper which makes it even easier to accomplish the tipping of the device, and access of the pills from the stainless steel bowl.

The alarm will sound for up to 30 minutes, so you never have to worry about missing the pills again.

Take away the stress and stay on time, every time with the TabTimer Automatic Pill Dispenser.

In TabTimer’s full range of pill dispensers we also have the MedReady Dispensers.

One model has a built in SIM card, so the device can send email or SMS alerts to the carer if the person misses the alarm, or for some reason they skip their pill time.

We also have an epill Safe model, which comes in  a sturdy steel locked box to prevent people who may be at risk of, tampering with the device, or trying to access their pills early.

As you can see the TabTimer Automatic Pill Dispensers help people with medicine compliance, they help to reduce the risk of medication errors, and prevent double dosing from occurring.

TabTimer is a registered NDIS provider, supplier to the Department of Veteran Affairs and Home Care Packages.
