Oscar winner Kathy Bates has starred in five seasons of American Horror Story, from Season 3 - Coven to Season 8 - Apocalypse. Let's take a look back at each one of her memorable performances in the series.
Bates’ first and possibly most iconic performance has to be Coven’s Madame Delphine LaLaurie, who was based off a real-life person. For her performance, Bates won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. In Season 4, Bates played Freak Show’s Ethel Darling. In Season 5 - Hotel, she portrayed Iris, the receptionist of the Hotel Cortez.
In AHS Roanoake (Season 6), Bates played Agnes Mary Winstead. She was the actress who portrayed The Butcher in show’s TV documentary series: "My Roanoke Nightmare". Kathy Bates returned to AHS in season 8’s Apocalypse as the guardian of the anti-christ, Miriam Mead.
