I thought I'd share this to mark Channel 4's 40th anniversary tomorrow (Wednesday 2 November 2022). This edition of Countdown was shown on Wednesday 2 August 1989, unfortunately the sound is low and is missing the first minute or so. Also included are the original adverts.

Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman host the show in which contestants race against the clock to pit their wits against vowels, consonants and numbers. With dictionary corner guest Eve Pollard and lexicographer Simon Mason.
