Radioactive Waste Management – Safe Solutions

United Nations - The sustainable use of nuclear energy and nuclear technologies requires that radioactive waste and spent fuel be managed safely from the moment they are generated until they are disposed of in a licensed facility. A recent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conference on the safety of radioactive waste management provided a forum to discuss progress in the safe management of all types of radioactive waste. This included progress made towards the disposal of spent nuclear fuel. The IAEA’s Alexandra-Anna Panic has this report.
