Kizlyar Supreme Pioneer camp knife
Kizlyar Supreme Pioneer camp knife review.
I took my Pioneer out fishing over 3 days and it was not exempt from basic camp duties either. Gutting and scaling fish, cutting wild herbs (mint for tea), feathering wood, cutting up vegetables etc. A solid performer with a very useful full flat ground blade. Maximising the cutting surface, there is no area wasted with a choil on this small to medium sized knife. There are currently 2 versions, this model shown here with walnut scales and blade steel of AUS 8 and another in Bohler, Sleipner, with G10 scales. The AUS8 stayed incredibly sharp despite me cutting dirty wood and onto a very abrasive tree trunk covered in garbage. This is inline with my previous experience of Kizlyar Supreme's excellent heat treatment of AUS8.
Despite a small handle, it is very ergonomic to use and as such provides a solid grip too. Stay tuned to see the Kizlyar Supreme Pioneer in further videos.
Often manufacturers can exaggerate when it comes to promoting their goods but I have to say that what they say about this knife, I can not argue with. A well- thought out design and truly useful as a quality hiking and camping knife. Full leather deep insertion scabbard, quality stitched and reinforced construction with a dangler loop, all to provide a firm hold on the knife and safe carry.
