Blacked Out Driver Records Five Times Legal Alcohol Concentration to Drive in Illinois

HARVARD, IL - At 3:26PM
HARVARD, IL - At 3:26PM on April 19th, 2020, Harvard Police received a call of a motor vehicle accident in a driveway. Upon arrival, police found the driver of the vehicle to be unable to speak properly and communicate with the officers effectively. An ambulance was called to transport the suspect to the local hospital. While transported, officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found two open containers of vodka in the center console.
Following the search of the vehicle, an officer traveled to Mercy Harvard Health Clinic to read the driver the Illinois Warning to Motorist statement which let him know that his license was going to be suspended. The following day, the officer formally read the charges to the suspect as they discussed upcoming court dates. The driver was eventually cited with four (4) separate traffic violations and two (2) counts of driving under the influence (DUI).
