Park Jung-Hyun's 8th album "parallax"
Park Jung-Hyun's 8th album "parallax" is being released in three years on June 19th of 2012.
The title of the album, "parallax", stands for the term in astrology, in which there is a difference in the direction when looking at the celestial bodies from two different points. By working with musicians who understand her, Park Jung-Hyun has created a superb result with "parallax" by finding a new and fresh direction by comparing it with her previous music.
The title song "Sorry" is a special song. Its lyrics contain the complex feelings of sadness, resentment, apology, and relief of no longer being able to trust in one's loved one. Featuring a lyrical melody, it is a remake of the song "Mientes" by the famous Mexican group "Camila", popular in North America as it ranked high on the Billboard Latin Pop Chart when released in 2009. Although it was not easy, Don Spike who arranged the song and the lyricist Chung Seok-Won worked hard to create a song that matched Park Jung-Hyun, even though it meant giving up their copyright since the song was a remake. Moreover, Park Jung-Hyun went to the U.S. to record the song in order to bring out the exotic Latin feelings in the album. During this process, Park Jung-Hyun was praised by the local performers and staff for her emotions and an arrangement that they claimed surpassed the original.

2012年6月19日、3年ぶりにパク・ジョンヒョンの八枚目のアルバム[parallax]が発売された。
アルバム名の[parallax]は、韓国語で'視差'という意味だが、天文学で観測者がある天体を同時に2つの地点から見たときに生じる方向の差を意味する。パク・ジョンヒョンは、自分の音楽に新鮮で新たな方向性を提示してくれるミュージシャンたちとの作業を通じて[parallax]のような素敵な結果物を出した。
今回のアルバムのタイトル曲である「ごめんね」は特別な歌である。愛する人を信じられなくなった悲しみや恨み、すまない気持ちやほっとする気持ちなど複雑な感性を表現した歌詞に、叙情的なメロディーが引き立つ曲だ。メキシコの人気グループ'Camila'の「Mientes」をリメークした歌で、2009年に発表されビルボードラテンポップチャート上位に上がるなど、北米では多くの人気を集めた曲だ。原曲があるだけに作業は容易ではなかったが編曲を引き受けた'ドンスパイク'と作詞家の'チョン・ソクウォンは、自分たちの著作権を諦めるしかない翻案曲にもかかわらず、パク・ジョンヒョンによく合う「ごめんね」を誕生させた。パク・ジョンヒョンは、原曲のエキゾチックなラテンの感性をアルバムに生かすため米国を行き来しながら、現地の演奏者たちと録音を行った。録音に参加した現地の演奏者やスタッフたちは原曲よりも感性豊かで優れた編曲だと評価した。

앨범명인 [parallax]는 한국어로 "시차(視差)"라고 해석될 수 있는데 천문학에서 관측자가 어떤 천체를 동시에 두 지점에서 보았을 때 생기는 방향의 차를 의미한다. 박정현은 자신을 잘 이해해 온 뮤지션들과 함께 작업함과 동시에 그 동안의 자신의 음악과 비교해서 신선하면서도 새로운 방향을 제시해줄 음악가들과 함께 작업하는 것을 통해 그 [parallax]를 대중들에게 제시하는 멋진 결과물을 창조 해 냈다.
이번 앨범의 타이틀곡인 "미안해"는 특별한 노래이다. 사랑하는 사람을 더 이상 믿지 못하게 된 슬픔과 원망, 미안함 과 후련함의 복잡한 감성을 담아낸 가사에 서정적인 멜로디가 돋보이는 노래로 멕시코의 인기그룹인 "Camila"의 "Mientes"를 리메이크한 노래이며 이 노래는 2009년 발표되어 빌보드 라틴 팝 차트 상위권에 오르는 등 북미에서는 많은 인기를 끌었던 노래다. 원곡이 있는 노래인 만큼 작업은 쉽지 않았지만 편곡을 맡은 "돈 스파이크"와 작사가로 도움을 준 "정석원"은 자신들의 저작권을 포기할 수 밖에 없는 번안곡이라는 현실에도 불구하고 박정현에 잘 맞는 "미안해"를 탄생 시켰다. 더불어 박정현은 원곡의 이국적인 라틴 감성을 앨범에 담아내기 위해 미국을 오가며 현지 연주자들과 직접 녹음 작업을 진행 했다. 이 과정에서 현지 에서 녹음에 참여한 연주자들과 스텝들로부터 원곡보다 더 나은 편곡과 감성을 담았다는 평을 받기도 했다.
