Typically designers tend to think about AI simply in terms of AI-based tools that can be used in the design process. They seldom think about AI in broader terms. And yet there is a debate raging in Computer Science circles about AGI and the very future of AI. The session brings together a panel of designers with a deep understanding of AI to discuss the impact of AGI on the future of design.

OpenAI’s definition of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is: ‘a highly autonomous system that can outperform humans at most economically valuable work.’

This series addresses the theme of AGI. Are we there yet? If not, how far are we away? What would it take to reach AGI? And are the implications - the dangers, the risks and advantages - of reaching AGI?
