High chance of development of a tropical depression or storm in the Gulf - Tropics Update Saturday M

Meteorologist Grant Skinner gives an update on the tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin. The News 5 First Alert Storm Team is tracking one system (Invest 93) near the Gulf of Mexico between the Yucatan peninsula and Cuba that is expected to form into a tropical depression or storm by the end of the weekend or early next week. Residents from the Mississippi coastline through Tampa, Florida including coastal Alabama, and the panhandle of Florida should monitor the latest information on this system. Tropical Storm Franklin continues to strengthen in the Atlantic, but it is expected to move away from the United States. We are also watching two areas in the Atlantic that could have some slow development over the next several days, but they currently do not pose a threat to the US.
