Lesson 01 of English Book II for second Year. “THE DYING SUN” by Sir James Jeans is presented to you all. I have tried to cover all the aspects of the lesson from the examination point of view. The students of Intermediate (FSc/FA/ICS/ICOM) 2nd year Part-II can benefit from my lectures.

I have discussed in the detail the maximum possible short questions, synonyms, certain grammatical constructions and English pronunciation. The words in this lesson/essay which are included in UHS MDCAT ENGLISH VOCABULRY are especially pointed out and discussed and those words with a lot of synonyms and Antonyms are given here in this description below as well.

Biography of Sir James Jeans
He was a British physicist, astronomer and mathematician
“The Dying Sun” has been taken from his Book  The Mysterious Universe  that was first published in 1930

1- The vastness of the universe and the size of the stars.
2- The creation of the planetary system including our earth.
3- The beginning of life on earth.
4- The littleness of our home, Earth. That’s why the Universe is frightening.
5- What are the requirements of life for its appearance, most important is moderate temperature
6- What are temperature belts
7- Life exists only on Earth and our earth is also in the temperature belt.
